Fall leaf collection is underway

leaf truck

The Village of Howard will run its fall curbside leaf collection, beginning Oct. 14 and running through about mid-November as weather permits. Residents should rake their leaves to the curb (not into the street) a safe distance from surrounding objects. As a reminder, curbside collection is for leaves only. Grass clippings, sticks, root balls, pumpkins and other yard waste, as well as bagged leaves, will not be collected.

The village has three leaf trucks that make rounds through the village via five zones that coincide with garbage collection days (e.g. Zone 1 is on Monday. Zone 2 is on Tuesday, etc.) During peak season, the trucks may take a full day or two days to complete a zone. Residents can track the trucks and get an idea of when they will be collecting in their respective zones on our leaf collection webpage here:  https://www.villageofhoward.com/291/Leaf-Collection
