Howard residents and visitors once again will have the opportunity to shop for locally grown and harvested foods and handmade items when the Howard Farmers Market returns this summer. The market debuted last year and has been tweaked a bit based on the feedback from vendors and shoppers.
The Farmers Market has a new day and a slightly different location. This year, the market will run 4-7 p.m. Tuesdays from June 13 through Sept. 26. The event still will be held in the Village Center, but will be moved closer to Cardinal Lane due to the upcoming construction of new buildings in the area.
The biggest change with this year’s Farmers Market is the number and type of vendors that will be included. The market still will have a section for chemical-free and clean foods and products, but all produce vendors who grow their items locally are invited to participate.
In addition to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, this year’s market will feature a variety of canned foods, honey, syrups, all-natural soaps and other beauty products, handmade jewelry and other crafts, as well as periodic live entertainment, children’s activities, food trucks and more!
